Guide for Authors

1. Manuscript Submission

Thank you for choosing to submit your paper to the Interdisciplinary Studies in English Language Teaching (ISELT). Please adhere to the manuscript submission guidelines to ensure your paper meets ISELT’s formatting requirements. Authors must provide a Username/Password for the ISELT journal. Submit manuscripts via our online submission system, not by email unless specifically requested. Manuscript receipt will be confirmed by email. Non-compliance with submission guidelines may delay manuscript processing.

2. Language and Integrity Standards

Manuscripts must be in English, using either American or British spelling consistently. Translated articles are not accepted.

3. Authenticity and Plagiarism Policy

Authors should ensure their manuscripts are free from plagiarism and fraudulent data. The ISELT editorial team employs both reviewer evaluations and the iThenticate plagiarism detection tool. At least two reviewers assess each manuscript.

4. Originality and Exclusivity

ISELT will only review manuscripts that:

  • Are original
  • Are not under consideration elsewhere
  • Have not been previously published in whole or in part
  • Have not been accepted for publication elsewhere
  • Will not be submitted elsewhere until a publication decision is made

5. Files to be Submitted

When submitting your manuscript, please prepare and upload the following files.


 Note: 

  • The required files vary depending on the stage of submission (i.e., Initial Manuscript Submission Stage & After Final Acceptance)
  • It is strongly recommended that authors download the appropriate templates from the links provided below and ensure that all required files are submitted in accordance with the prescribed template formats.

 

 

5.1. Files Required at the Initial Manuscript Submission Stage

These must be submitted together with your first manuscript submission.

    • Title Page (Required at first manuscript submission)

The title page must include: manuscript title, author(s)’ full names, affiliations, ORCID IDs, complete contact details, and authors' contributions.

Please consider the following when submitting this file:

      • File Type: Submit the title page as an editable MS Word file (not PDF).
      • Page Size: A4
      • Order of Authors: Arrange and number the authors’ names in the order they are to appear in the paper.
      • Corresponding Author: Mark the corresponding author’s name with an asterisk (*).
    • Main Manuscript File (Required at first manuscript submission)

The main manuscript file must include: title, abstract, and main text body.

      • Do not include any author-identifying information (names, affiliations, etc.) in this file.

Use the template file for structuring the main body of your manuscript. Ensure it is free from author identifiers to maintain the double-blind review process. The manuscript should include the title, abstract, introduction, literature review, methods, results, discussion (and conclusions), and references, with a word count between 6,500 and 7,500 words, excluding the abstract and references.

Formatting Specifications:

      • Document Size: A4
      • The full title of the article: Capitalize the first letter of the main words, using Times New Roman 14 pt., bold. One line space must be left after the title.
      • Abstract: Times New Roman 11 pt., single spacing, between 150 and 250 words, including key terms (three to five terms).
      • Headings (Level 1): INTRODUCTION, 2. LITERATURE REVIEW, 3. METHODS, 4. RESULTS, and 5. DISCUSSION (CONCLUSIONS) must be left-aligned, bold, uppercase, numbered, and printed in all capital letters (Times New Roman 12 pt., bold).
      • Subheadings (Level 2):Left-aligned, bold, upper/lowercase (only the first letter of the first word capitalized), Times New Roman 12 pt., bold.
      • Subheadings (Level 3):Left-aligned, bold, upper/lowercase (only the first letter of the first word capitalized), Times New Roman 12 pt., bold-italicized, and the same format applies to Levels 4 and 5.
      • Citations and references must adhere to the APA 7th edition style (available at: https://apastyle.apa.org/). We kindly request that authors use reference management software (e.g., EndNote) and hyperlink each in-text citation to its corresponding reference entry to facilitate direct access to the cited work for readers. The DOI of each referenced resource (if available) should be included at the end of each reference as a hyperlink.
    • Persian Title and Abstract (Persian-speaking authors only)

The persian title and abstract file must include: title, author affiliation(s), and an abstract in Persian.

5.2. Files Required Only After Final Acceptance

Submit these only after your manuscript is accepted for publication.

    • Copyright Form (Form 1) (Required only after your manuscript is accepted)

The copyright form must be signed and completed by all the corresponding author (on behalf of all coauthors).

    • Conflict of Interest Form (Form 2) (Required only after your manuscript is accepted)

    • Reference Management Library Files (Required only after your manuscript is accepted)
      • g., EndNote library file and its corresponding .Data folder (uploaded together as a zipped file).
    • Graphic Files (Required only if applicable)
      • Submit these files only if your manuscript contains High-quality versions of fine-grained illustrations, diagrams, figures, or images.
      • Recommended formats: TIFF, JPEG, or PNG with a resolution of at least 300 dpi.

 Formatting Services 

Our ISELT editorial office provides high-quality formatting services, including hyperlinking in-text citations to corresponding references and creating EndNote Library files for your paper. These services help ensure your manuscript fully complies with our formatting guidelines. Authors are encouraged to use these facilities to guarantee proper formatting prior to submission.
